Norfolk Health Overview Scrutiny Committee
Description
Norfolk Health Scrutiny Committee is a Norfolk County Council Committee and its main function is to scrutinise health services in the County. It does this in two ways:
- By receiving and responding to NHS consultations on any ‘substantial’ changes to local health services.
- By scrutinising anything in the NHS and the health sector that might help to improve the health of the community and reduce health inequalities.
This is a scrutiny committee which makes no decisions about spending or actions other than those associated with the scrutiny process. The committee may make recommendations or comments to NHS / other organisations and may decide to make referrals to the Secretary of State for Health under the relevant health scrutiny legislation.
