Exclusion of Press and Public

To consider passing the following resolution.

 

“That under Section 100 (A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 12A to the Act.”

 

Part B – Item from which the press and the public are excluded.

 

Minutes:

RESOLVED that under Section 100(A) (4) of the Local Government Act 1972 the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 12A to the Act.

Consideration of the suspension or revocation of a Hackney Carriage / Private Hire drivers licence

Report of the Executive Manager for People and Public Protection.

 

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer presented the report in respect of the consideration of the suspension or revocation of a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire driver licence.

 

The Licence Holder gave an explanation of the circumstances surrounding the matter referred to and the Members asked the applicant questions.

 

The Solicitor summed up the representations and information for the Panel to consider.

 

The Licence Holder and the Licensing Officer left the room whilst the panel made their determination. They were invited back to hear the decision.

 

 

Resolved that:

 

The Panel suspend the licence for a period of 2 weeks which would run after the right to appeal period of 21 days had expired. The Licence Holder had a right to appeal to the Magistrates Court in respect of the decision.

Application for the grant of a Hackney Carriage / Private Hire drivers licence

Report of the Executive Manager for People and Public Protection.

 

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer presented the report in respect of an application for a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire driver licence, that application having disclosed certain information which required this to be referred to the Panel.

 

The Applicant gave an explanation of the circumstances surrounding the various matters referred to and the members asked the applicant questions.

 

The Solicitor summed up the representations and information for the Panel to consider.

 

The Applicant and the Licensing Officer left the room whilst the panel made their determination. They were invited back to hear the decision.

 

Resolved that:

 

The Panel granted a Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Drivers Licence for an initial period of one year with delegated authority to the Licensing and Business Support Manager to issue the remaining term of the Licence subject to the Applicants continuing satisfactory behaviour.

 

The Applicant had a right to appeal the decision to the Magistrates Court.
