The Hearing was conducted in accordance with the procedures as set out in the Agenda.
The Applicants withdrew their request for a seasonal variation for 24 hour opening in December.
Having considered all the oral and written evidence and having given consideration to the Licensing Act 2003 and its regulations, the national guidance and the Council’s Licensing Policy, the Sub-Committee made the following Findings of Fact:
The Sub-Committee therefore granted the application for a premises licence (as amended) for the premises known as Tesco Stores Ltd, 3 Thetford Road, Watton IP25 6BQ to operate for opening and sale of alcohol during the hours from 06:00 to 00:00 (midnight) from Sunday to Saturday, subject to the mandatory conditions drawn from the Licensing act and the following conditions:
Reason for Decision
The Sub-Committee is satisfied that the steps contained within the operating schedule will promote the four Licensing objectives.
The Sub-Committee would also like to note that, given the co-operation and involvement by the applicant Company in the local community, the Sub-Committee would fervently wish to see that 80% of the car park be covered by CCTV provision and in particular the areas of concern expressed by several objectors.
