Purpose:

To present the draft of the Council’s Freedom of Information policy to the Overview and Scrutiny Commission for review.

Decision:

The Freedom of Information Policy be adopted.

Reasons for the decision:

The current adopted policy was 4-years old and due for a review.  Whilst there had not been any fundamental changes to statutory requirements, the new policy was improved for the benefit of the people wishing to contact the Council regarding Freedom of Information.

Alternative options considered:

1.     To adopt the amended Policy.

2.     Do nothing.
